Training Room

The best way to become familiar with multi-player poker is to use our exclusive Training Room. It's fun, it's easy and there is no pressure because you're playing against our three Automated Trainers, not other people. Take your time to learn the game controls and flow of play in a relaxed environment. It's Free Play, and you can use the Training Room as often as you like.

To get to the Training Room, simply locate the button on the Lobby, click and then select which type of bet limits you want to use (we recommend starting with Limit Play only because there are fewer betting choices to make when playing).

Limit play means raises are limited to the minimum bet amount, and 1/2 stakes means minimum bets are 1 chip in the first two rounds and 2 chips in the third and fourth rounds.

Pot Limit play means you can raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the amount in the pot, and 2/2 stakes means minimum bets are 2 chips in the first two rounds and 2 chips in the third and fourth rounds.

No Limit play means you can raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the amount of chips you have at table, and 3/3 stakes means minimum bets are 3 chips in the first two rounds and 3 chips in the third and fourth rounds.

Click OK and the Training Room will open with a dialog box asking how many chips you want to bring to the table. It shows the minimum needed to sit and the maximum you can bring. Since this is Free Play, just click OK to sit with the maximum. You will be seated in the foreground, and in a moment Mallory, Hillary and Norgay will join the table and take their seats. When everyone is seated (just the four of you), play will start.
From here, you learn by doing. Action buttons will appear in the centre control panel area when it's your turn to take an action. Don't worry about clicking the wrong thing, after a few hands you'll get the hang of it and start mastering the flow of play.

A few useful tips:
  • Hold your mouse over the avatars for a few seconds to see player profiles popup.
  • Mouse-over your Pocket Cards to see your best hand rank at the moment (it may change as more community cards are dealt to the board).
  • Mouse-over most control buttons to see tips pop-up to explain their function. Action buttons typically don't have pop-up tips because they would be distracting during play.
  • The Chat window carries Dealer chat which describes what happens at each step. Reading it as you play can be instructive.
  • To see what happened at the end of the last hand, look in the upper right at the Previous Hand window. Click on the window to bring up the Statistics table showing information on your play during this table session. Click on the Statistics table to bring up the Previous Hand summary again.
  • The Hand Ranks button will pop-up a list of all the possible Hand values ranked from highest to lowest.

If you run out of chips, you can always leave the Training Room and start over again. Use it as often as you like. When you are familiar with the game controls and comfortable with the flow of play, go back to the Lobby and select an active table to take on other players for the real thrill of this game.
Have fun and enjoy the game!
